Linknest field guide
Short links, explained without the jargon.
A short link is a compact address that redirects to a longer web address. It can be easier to share in a message, presentation, or printed material.
What a shortener does
A shortener connects a short path to the destination URL you provide. When someone opens the short path, their browser is redirected to that saved destination.
Check the destination first
A shortened address does not show the full destination at a glance. Open the original address and confirm it is the correct page before sharing.
Share links responsibly
- Only shorten pages you have permission to share.
- Do not use short links for phishing, spam, malware, or misleading destinations.
- Tell people what a link is for if the destination may be unclear.
